What is Home Care?

Home Care is an online video-calling appointment service. It offers the same great service as our clinics but saves the travel time. Home Care allows patients to not only get assessed for medical cannabis but also renew their existing medical document all from the comfort of their own home. This service is available to all potential patients especially those who are short on time, live in remote areas, or have limited mobility.

At the moment, this service is available to Ontario and British Columbia residents. If you are living in outside of these provinces and are interested in this service, fill in the form at the end of this page and we will ensure you will be one of the first to be contacted as soon as this service becomes available in your region.

Step 1: Book Online Appointment

For new patients, simply click “Sign up & Book” button which will take you to the end of this page. Please fill in your details and click submit. You will then be directed to the booking page where you can follow the steps to complete the booking.

For existing patients, we already have your profile set up so simply click the “Book Renewal” button and follow the steps on the following page. If you already have a follow-up appointment in one of our clinics, we will cancel it on your behalf.

Step 2: New Patient? Complete Medical Form

If you are a new patient with Canadian Cannabis Clinics, we will email you a digital medical form to complete prior to your appointment. This will provide our healthcare practitioner with a better idea of your condition and history. You will also need to have your photo ID and any prescriptions you are currently taking ready for your appointment. Existing patients skip this step as they would have already completed this form from their initial clinic visit.

Step 3: Download App/Software

Downloading the app on your phone or software onto your computer is quick and easy. Not only will we send you an email with detailed instructions to follow prior to your appointment, one of our patient coordinators will call you 10 minutes before your appointment to ensure you are fully set up and everything is in working order. You don’t need to be tech-savvy as we will be there to assist you should you need it.

Step 4: Meet Practitioner

The patient coordinator will transfer your video call to the practitioner who is there to assess and potentially authorize/renew the medical document for cannabis. Please note you will get the opportunity to ask all your in-depth questions about cannabis in the next step with your cannabis counsellor.

Step 5: Meet Counsellor & Register with Licensed Producer

The practitioner will transfer your video call to your cannabis counsellor who is there to educate and guide you on your cannabis journey. To ensure you have the best experience and get the most from your medical cannabis, they will assist with product selection and dosing advice.

They will also send the registration forms to the chosen licensed producer on your behalf. The licensed producer is who you will actually order the cannabis from. Licensed producers generally require 5-10 business days to verify your registration. Once they complete this, they will reach out to you to complete your order. Don’t worry, we’ll check in with you by email 2 weeks after your appointment to ask how everything is going. Delivery typically takes 2-3 business days after being ordered.

Step 6: Follow up & Support

We’re here to continuously help and support you along your cannabis journey. We understand it may be overwhelming with all the new information. This is why you will be sent a digital “Welcome Book” cannabis guide after your appointment and have our counsellors on hand to answer any questions you may have by phone and email. We also offer complimentary video-call appointments with our counsellors in between appointments.
